Who’s Laurie?

The voice behind Living Marvelously

Hello! I’m Laurie

And welcome to Living Marvelously

This site exists in honor of my mom, Marvel. She passed away from breast cancer in 2002 at the age of 66. She was a fun, beautiful woman who taught us so much and was loved by so many.

When I watched her life get cut short with so many adventures still to be had, I felt called to share my thoughts and feelings toward making the most of life.

And thus the launch of Living Marvelously, a platform through which I share ways for you to make the most of this beautiful adventure that is life.

Too often we sit on the sidelines and watch the highlights of other people’s lives.  It’s time to start living the life you want and dare to put yourself first.

Life is short, so let’s have as much fun as we can and create the most fulfilling life possible.

I’ve been married to my husband, Dave, for over 35 years, and together we raised three beautiful children.

In May of 2018, our kids had all flown the nest and were living lives of their own. Suddenly, I found myself with extra time and a deep desire to finally do the things that light me up. It was time to stop sitting on the sidelines and start chasing my own dreams. So, I quit my full-time job to follow my passion for writing and reading—and to share everything I’ve been learning with you.

I believe we each hold the power to create our own happiness and to make the very best of this one wild, marvelous life.

On my blog, you’ll discover ways to love yourself (and others), live with intention and purpose, and make your dreams a reality. My hope is that you’ll feel loved, joyful, fulfilled, empowered, and deeply aligned as you read.

I’d love for you to join me on this journey so we can learn together how to live fully and marvelously.

And yes—I even wrote a book about it! It’s called The 5 Ls of Living Marvelously, and you can find it now on Amazon. Go check it out—I think you’ll love it.
