Christmas can bring up different feelings and beliefs for everyone. Some good, cheerful, and joyful. Some are sad, lonely, and stressed. Sometimes the true meaning of Christmas gets forgotten. The birth of Jesus becomes less important while we run around trying to do everything we think we need to do.
But, all we really have to do is spread good cheer in any way we know how. Pray for peace and love for God’s children here on earth.
How to Share Love This Season
In the Bible, Jesus asks us to live with compassion, charity, joy, kindness, patience, goodness, faith, and most of all, love for others.
Compassion – Show concern for the sufferings and misfortunes of others.
Charity – Share your gifts with those who have less than you: money, time, materials, and love.
Joy – Find joy in everything you do. Show that joy to others and spread it wherever you go. Be grateful for all that you have.
Kindness – Be kind to everyone, especially those different from you. See God’s light in their eyes.
Patience – Show and practice the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset.
Goodness – Live by morals that are good and loving to everyone.
Faith – Have confidence and trust in a God you cannot see. Know that a higher spirit inside you wants only the best for you.
Love – The greatest gift you can give to another is unconditional love.
That doesn’t seem too hard; the energy it takes not to live that way seems a lot harder! This Christmas, try going through your preparations with these characteristics in mind. Post this Christmas prayer where you can see it every day.
I hope your Christmas is filled with joy, laughter, dancing Santas, and many presents to be given and received under the tree.
For my friends who are going through some tough times and losses this Christmas season, I pray this Christmas brings you a time of reflection, peace, support, and sweet memories. You are not alone.
