Something I have always wanted to do was to report good news and feel good stories. I get tired of the negativity and drama that is reported on a consistent basis. Many people have stopped reading and watching the news because the headlines are always highlighting the bad that is happening. I keep wondering when news organizations will realize how much low energy they bring to the world and by raising the vibration of all who watch, some of the bad they are reporting on will stop.
But until that happens, I found a few feel good stories from 2019 to share with you! I hope they inspire you to create a few feel good stories of your own!
From Good News Network
- 13-year old Kaitlyn Lopez was diagnosed with autism and has been non-verbal since she was 3 years old. Last week when she was observing her neighbor’s Christmas lights display, she spoke her first words. She stood up and said, “Santa! Santa is coming!” Her mom is hoping this is just the beginning. An example of how when you put love into a beautiful display for others to see, you never know who will be touched or affected.
- A study published in Science Translational Medicine shows that dementia was reversed in mice with a drug that reduces inflammation. Experts are “optimistic” that it will work in humans and possibly lead to a cure! I love this because it proves that we can reduce the risk of that awful disease by taking care of what we put in our bodies.
- A 10-year-old boy from London, England has been collecting pajamas and books for 3 years to give to children who will be spending Christmas in shelters. When he realized not everyone has a great time on Christmas, he wanted these children to have fresh pajamas and a book to read on Christmas Eve. So far, he has donated hundreds! One small thought of kindness can affect many!

- AC/DC’s lead singer Brian Johnson and his wife sold a property for $335,000 and the proceeds will go directly to the nonprofit organization All Star Children’s Foundation.
The mission of the All Star Children’s Foundation is to create a safe place for children to heal from the trauma of child abuse. This includes a soon-to-open five-acre Campus of Hope & Healing in Sarasota, Florida.
“They have brought a community together in a common cause to help children who have grown up in unpredictable households where violence and neglect may have occurred,” Johnson said in a statement. “There is no greater good than what they have achieved in building the All Star Children’s Foundation campus. Brenda and I are honored to be a part of it.”
This one caught my attention because ACDC is my husband’s favorite band. And while I don’t necessarily like all of their music, this makes me feel a lot better about them!

- A 5-year-old student at Breeze Hill Elementary School in Southern California came to the rescue of her fellow students when she learned some had trouble paying for lunch.
Katelynn Hardee was confused after overhearing a parent say she was having difficulty paying for an after-school program.
“She started asking me a lot of questions. I just tried to explain to her that sometimes people aren’t as fortunate and that we need to try to be kind and give when we can,” Karina Hardee, Katelynn’s mom, told CNN.
So, Katelynn set up a hot cocoa and cookies stand to raise money for her less fortunate classmates.
She raised $80 which paid off the negative lunch balances of 123 students at her school.
I think that is amazing. 5 years old! I used to work at an elementary school. It always broke my heart when kids were given a peanut butter sandwich for lunch because they were negative in their lunch account. Especially the youngest students. Nice job Katelynn!
From Red Wing, MN
Here’s a local one! The Red Wing, Minnesota Elks Club #845 does great work every year, but this year they were extra generous for the holiday season. They assembled and distributed 168 boxes full of food and gifts for their Christmas Basket Project. Over 700 people in Red Wing were impacted by the volunteers and donors’ contributions. Elks members also made 23 tie blankets and wrapped 200 gifts for local teens that were distributed to the local High School. Proud to be associated with them!
A Few Other Kind Deeds I’ve Noticed
- We watch a lot of sports in our house, and during the Christmas season, one of my favorite things is seeing the athletes help others. Visiting hospitals, taking kids shopping, helping serve food and making dreams come true. I watched a short clip on Chris Middleton of the Milwaukee Bucks filling bags with merchandise to hand out to sick children. Plus, he treated a few women from a shelter to a day at the spa and then brought presents for all of the children. I know this is happening across the country.
- All of the bell ringers for the Salvation Army.
- Bringing comfort to friends who have lost loved ones this year.
- The stories of families finding another family who has fallen on hard times and bringing them food and presents.
- Toys for Tots donations.
And Finally
Did you hear the story about 5-year old Michael Clark Jr.? He invited his whole kindergarten class to witness his adoption hearing. What a fun story for all involved. The amazing foster parents who adopted Michael. Michael for wanting to share his joy with his whole class. The parents and teacher of the class for allowing the visit to the courthouse to happen. And most of all, the lesson the 5-year-olds learned about love and supporting each other. So cool!
I know there are many more feel good stories out there! You just have to look past the negative stories that are reported all over the news and find the good in all of us!
I wish all of you a Happy New Year! I hope the next year is filled with feel good stories of your own!
