There is still a lot of work to do to bring equal rights to women. As much as we like to blame men for that, sometimes it’s other women who bring strong women down. Let’s lift all women up and encourage and support each other in our successes. I found a few quotes about strong women to provide some motivation.

Quotes About Strong Women

“What you’re supposed to do when you don’t like a thing is change it. If you can’t change it, change the way you think about it. Don’t complain.” Maya Angelou

You have control of how you perceive reality. If you don’t like what is your reality today, then you need to change your perception. It is no one else’s fault. Change the way you look at your life to make it more beautiful and learn to be grateful for and appreciative of all that you have.

“I know my worth, I embrace my power, I say if I’m beautiful, and I say if I’m strong. You will not determine my story. I will.” Amy Schumer

That quote makes me want to do a little dance! What is your story? Do you know? Journal about what you want your life to look like without worrying about what anyone else thinks.

“The biggest compliment I get is when someone tells me, ‘You’re so real.’ Even if my journey isn’t exactly like theirs.” Tamron Hall

This is being authentic. Showing others your true personality. When you try to be something you are not, people can see right through it. Allow everyone to show their authentic selves, release all judgment.

“Happiness is not something that just comes to you. It’s an active process.” Kate Hudson

It’s active because it can change at any time. Only you know what makes you happy, so in turn, that is true for everyone else as well. Don’t lay expectations on other women to be happy about things that don’t make them happy.

“I’ve just never cared what people think. It’s more if I’m happy and I’m confident and feeling good. That’s always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family—I don’t seek out any other acceptance.” Kelly Clarkson

This is much easier said than done, but I admire other women who can truly live it. It comes down to knowing what makes you feel confident and good about yourself and then doing a lot of that.

“If you’re comfortable with yourself and know yourself, you’re going to shine and radiate, and other people are going to be drawn to you.”  Dolly Parton

This is similar to the last quote from a strong woman. The key is to know yourself. Taking the time to reflect on what brings you joy and what comes easy. When you are living your purpose and following your passion, you will always shine.

“Each person is born with very individual qualities and potential. We as a society owe it to women to create a truly supportive environment in which they too can grow and move forward.” Princess Diana

Isn’t that the truth? Everyone is looking for validation and to be seen for what makes them happy. The easiest way to get it is to give it to others. When you see someone who is having success in the same field you want to have success, cheer them on. They are opening doors for you and showing you a path.  Use the inspiration to keep going.

“There are many shades on every journey. Nothing is black or white. I’ve been through hell and back, and I’m grateful for every scar.” Beyonce

Every setback and every struggle is a learning opportunity. They show you where you may be headed in the wrong direction or illuminate what you now know you don’t want to do. When you see others struggling, do what you can to help them get back up and keep moving forward.

“I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me and not terrify me. I can even ask for help! Not feeling that I have to know everything…that’s where the growth comes in, in the not knowing.” Tracee Ellis Ross

Our brains cannot hold everything we need or want to know. Sometimes we have to look outside ourselves for information. That can be from a course or looking it up on the internet or it can be from your higher spirit. But don’t be afraid to ask. And, in turn, reach out to help others.

quotes about strong women

“The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and beginning the work of becoming yourself.” Anna Quindlen

Be okay with being yourself and acknowledging that you are different from everyone else. Allow others to do the same. There is no such thing as perfection, that is only a judgment.

“You can tell who the strong women are. They are the ones you see building one another up instead of tearing each other down.”

Be the one who is building others up! Know that there is enough abundance in this world for everyone to live their highest calling.

I hope these quotes about strong women give you the motivation you need to not only live your own authentic life but to support other women to live theirs as well.
