If you could make one wish, any wish, and no matter what you wished for, it would be granted, what would you wish for? You might be thinking of something material you have wanted for a long time. Or to bring back someone from the dead. Possibly you are thinking of more money, a relationship, a job, success, or peace. But what if you choose happiness? If you were happy, wouldn’t that mean most things in your life were going well? You would have the things you wanted, the people around you would make you happy, and you could find joy in all areas of your life. Think about that for a while! In the meantime, to get you started in the direction of your dream life, here are 20 happy affirmations.

Affirmations will help you start experiencing your life differently. The more you recite affirmations or write them down, your brain will begin to entrain you to think that way. And, as you know, thoughts become things. So, the more you think happy thoughts, the faster you will get to be happy.

Why Happiness is Important

Happiness is at the very top of the emotional scale. The Emotional Guidance Scale, as explained by Abraham Hicks in the book “Ask, and It Is Given,” is a scale of our feelings and emotions, from our highest vibrational feelings to our lowest. It is broken down into 20 of the most common emotions. The feelings at the top of the scale bring us closer to attracting more of what we want.

As a reminder, you create your reality. The Law of Attraction says that every thought vibrates, every thought radiates a signal, and every thought attracts a matching signal back. So, if you are vibrating positive, happy emotions out into the Universe, they will send positive, happy emotions back to you.

Whatever you decide will make you happy is what you will receive. Everyone will be different. When you are happy, what is happening in your life? Take some time to figure that out. Please write it down.

Using happy affirmations will help to keep you in the positive emotion of happiness. And when you are feeling happy, your life is pretty darn good.

In my post, What Does Being Happy Really Mean? here’s what being happy can do for you.

When you are happy, you will…

  • Choose to do things that are in alignment with what you love to do.
  • Be grateful for all you have in your life right now.
  • Enjoy the little things every day. You will notice other happy people and see more beauty and kindness all around you.
  • Do things to increase your happiness. Eat better, exercise more, sleep longer and better, meditate, and make time for self-care.
  • Reach out to others to share your happiness. Spread the love. Share your gifts, including your money.

How to Use Affirmations

It makes sense that to be happier, you need to think happy thoughts. Happy affirmations are a more structured way to do that until it becomes natural.

Pick a few affirmations that resonate with you or create your own. Then make time every day to use them. Here are a few ideas of what you can do.

  • Write on a post-it note, stick it to your bathroom mirror, and then say it out loud every morning while you get ready.
  • Write the affirmations in your journal between 3 and 10 times every morning or night.
  • Make your affirmations your background on your phone or computer.
  • Randomly put notes around your house and whenever you find one, say it out loud.
  • Make your affirmation part of your exercise routine. Use them as a mantra or intention.
  • Use your affirmation in your everyday conversations.

Whatever you do to use your happy affirmations, the most critical part is to believe it is true. If you feel any negativity creep in, repeat it. Also, it will take much longer to feel genuine if you are using your affirmations in the morning and then talking negatively the rest of the day.

Wouldn’t it feel great to be happy every day? Even when the typical challenges and distractions happen, you will find it easier to bounce back because so much in your life is going well. Some may say I am being a Pollyanna, but why would we want to live any other way? You only have this moment to live your dream life.
