I recently was part of a small group of women who said yes to a transformational and powerful retreat with a brilliant business and spiritual coach. We poured out our feelings, fears, hopes, and dreams, and asked so many questions to our leader and to God. I was mentally and physically tested. I learned a ton, but one main theme I brought home with me was that I need to pay attention to what God and the Universe are telling me. When I do that, I can make life easy.
There have been many times that I will catch myself and change what I do or say because I’m afraid to be the real me. Or, because I think I need to be different to fit in or others expect me to do what they need. I often would hide out in the background and let others take the lead. Underneath it all, I knew I wasn’t being my true self, it didn’t feel good. I wasn’t having fun and life became difficult because I was trying so hard to be someone other than me.
Can you relate?
During the retreat, we talked about human design and our gene keys. According to the Jovian Archive, “With Human Design you discover what makes you different from everyone else. It offers profound insights into your psychology, along with strategies and techniques for making correct decisions and ultimately leading to a life of more ease and fulfillment.”
My design and my gene keys showed me what actions I can take to make life easy. But you don’t have to have your design done, you just have to pay attention to what feels good and what brings you joy.
This poem was shared during the retreat. (I paraphrased a little) The Quantum Field of Knowing is God, the Universe, Source, Higher Spirit, or whatever feels good to you.
Isn’t that beautiful? There is an energy that knows how to make life easy for you. You just have to pay attention. Which isn’t always easy either. But with some guidance, you can take baby steps in that direction. The following four tips can help.
How to Make Life Easy
Discover what your relationship with the divine is. What do you want to call it? How do you want to access it?
There are many options of what to call it. Higher Spirit, God, Universe, Source, Collective, Angel, GUS (God, Universe, Source), Intuition, etc. You can access it through meditation, writing, playing, walking, in the shower, or through art. The key is to pay attention to how the divine speaks to you. Be open to strange things that might happen. Or even to the ordinary things at strange times.
I talk to God and our relationship is like a friendship. I ask questions, he answers, I process the answers, and then decide what to do with them. If I ever get off track, I usually get a sign that I need to pivot. That sign may be feeling bad about myself, not having any energy, sickness, confusion about my goals and dreams, etc. All I have to do is reconnect and ask another question. Writing plays a big role in my relationship. I write down what drops into my mind, then I also have a record of it to look back on.

Be aware of what comes easy to you. What makes you happy?
The things that come easy and make you happy are the things that you are meant to be doing. If you are struggling in your career, either find things about it that you do like, or look for something else. If you are struggling in a relationship, look for ways to incorporate more of what you love to do or find something else. You create your life. You don’t have to hang on to things that are hard or unpleasant.
One thing that I learned in my gene keys is that I work best in partnerships. My past work experiences would prove that to be true. But I am working alone right now with Living Marvelously and it can be a struggle. So now I am open to the idea of someone joining me and working together. I am open to what that will look like and am seeking guidance from God. But I do know that I am on the right track because I am having a blast writing and learning and sharing with all of you.
Know that everyone is creating their own life. You pay attention to your own.
Everyone lives in their own world. They were raised in different homes, cultures, and environments, by different parents and families, and with different beliefs. We all only know what we know. If you see someone doing something that feels wrong to you, instead of judging, reflect on why it bothers you. What do you need to change in your own life to not let it bother you? If you see someone doing something that you are jealous of, instead of judging them, make it a goal or a dream of your own.
If everyone could do that, we would all be sharing our gifts and living in peace. And even if you don’t think that could ever be a reality, you can still create your own peace. It only takes you to change the world. The ripple effect is amazing!
It’s the negative energy from judging others that can make life hard. We waste so much time worrying about what others are doing instead of enjoying our own life.
Love and forgive.
Take a moment for a deep breath. Close your eyes and visualize all of the people you love. Now picture yourself enjoying time with them, laughing, and feeling really good. Sit there for a moment in that joy.
As you come out of your visualization, how long does it take to start feeling anxious again about someone or something? The longer you can make that gap, the easier life will be. It takes energy and it repels God when you are feeling hate or anger. When you tackle life from a place of love and forgiveness, God will show up much faster.
There will be times when forgiveness feels impossible, but if you forgive another person, it does not mean that they are right or excused for their behavior; it just means you no longer want to carry the burden. That is a huge release of space that can be filled with the things that make life easy.
I learned so much while on my retreat. It is helpful to know what my tendencies are and to pay attention to what comes easily.
What comes easy for you? What brings you the most joy? How can you form a relationship with the divine to help you out? Who and what do you need to release?
