Valentine’s Day is a day to reach out and tell everyone you love them. We all know we should be doing this every day, but a little reminder once a year doesn’t hurt. Every morning, write down one thing you love about yourself

This could range from your sparkling personality or beautiful smile to how you remembered to feed the cat today. Start your day by giving yourself a little dose of encouragement.

Do something nice for yourself

As a mother or wife, you are probably doing all of the shopping for Valentine’s Day cards and gifts. Be sure to sneak in something for yourself. What would bring you more love? Maybe a massage, two hours of alone time, a new outfit or haircut for your date, a nice long walk, etc. Do something for yourself that will make you feel good.

Take a walk outside and look at all of the beauty in nature

No matter the temperature or season, notice how nature does what it is supposed to do. Ground yourself, breathe, and take the time just to be yourself.

Create something

Write a poem, draw a cartoon, paint a portrait, color in an adult coloring book, crochet, knit, embroider, etc. Release all of that creativity inside you!

Unfollow negative people on social media

You know who they are. The ones who immediately make you feel small, and your energy drops. Don’t even let them get on your page.

Follow a group that only provides the motivation and inspiration you want to see

Have you seen the new commercial about Facebook groups? There is a group for everyone. Just search for what you like and join! If you are going to spend time on social media, why not make sure you are reading posts that bring you joy and love? Here’s one you can try! Raise the Vibe

Be grateful and appreciative of being your beautiful and perfect self

Keep a gratitude or appreciation journal. Every day remind yourself about all of the goodness in your life and why it is easy to love yourself.

These last three encourage you to do nice things for others. I believe in the Law of Attraction, and if you are kind to and love others, the Universe will respond and bring more kindness and love to you.

Check-in with a friend

Do you have a friend who is alone today? It could totally be by choice, or it could be because of a loss. Reach out to say hello. Spread the love around.

Random acts of kindness

Do something nice for your partner, best friend, or pet

When you find yourself thinking, “He/she would really like it if I did this,” do it. It’s the simple things like; folding and putting away the laundry, making coffee, filling the water bowl, rubbing your dog’s belly, picking up the dry cleaning, following up with a friend who is dealing with something, or just saying I love you.
