Deepak Chopra wrote a book titled, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. It piqued my interest because often, success and spirituality can feel like opposites. You either have to work very hard to get what you want, or you just sit back and wait for God or the Universe to direct your life.
Recently, I have been studying Dharma Coaching and Human Design. What I have learned about myself, is that I have unique ways of expressing myself and that when I use my dharma, I should wait to respond to opportunities that will come to me. That was a huge shift for me and one that I am working on accepting right now.
And the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success are helping. Life is meant to be easy. To flow with our own unique patterns and dreams. When we pay attention to what comes easy, joyful, fulfilling, and authentic to us, we can achieve great things.
So, if you are curious about how success and spirituality can work together, keep reading!
The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success
The Law of Pure Potentiality
Pure potentiality is having the awareness that everything we desire or want already exists within us. When we take the time to be silent and just witness the divine intelligence of all living things, we can see that everyone and everything is here to be their unique self. It allows you to release comparisons and judgments and to only focus on what your inner being is guiding you to do. Release the pressure of following others’ directions or comparing yourself to others’ achievements.
Meditation is key to accessing this inner knowledge. Here are a few posts that can help: Why You Should Give Meditation A Try and 3 Tips on How to Focus when Meditating.
The Law of Giving and Receiving
What we give energetically, will be reciprocated. Similar to the Law of Attraction, whatever we give to others, a similar gesture will find its way back to us. This is important in business because when we are selling from a place of pure intention to help others, that positive energy will find its way back to us. But it is also important to receive kindly. Allow others to give to you so that the energetic circle can keep spinning. When we refuse help because we don’t want to bother someone or think we have enough, we are also preventing others to accept help from us. Kind of mind-blowing, isn’t it?
So, give from a place of love and graciously accept gifts from others.
The Law of Karma
The definition of karma, according to Wikipedia, is that karma means action, work, or deed. The term also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect, often descriptively called the principle of karma, wherein the intent and actions of an individual influence the future of that individual. When you do things with the intent to bring happiness, joy, or fulfillment to others, you will receive happiness, joy, and fulfillment in return. Karma is the action, it’s the intent of that action that gets brought back to you. So, when you hear, “karma is a bitch”, it doesn’t have to be bad.

The Law of Least Effort
This explanation by Deepak Chopra is amazing and makes this law easy to understand. “If you observe nature at work, you will see that least effort is expended. Grass doesn’t try to grow, it just grows. Fish don’t try to swim, they just swim. Flowers don’t try to bloom, they bloom. Birds don’t try to fly, they
fly. This is their intrinsic nature. The earth doesn’t try to spin on its own axis; it is the nature of the earth to spin with dizzying speed and to hurtle through space. It is the nature of babies to be in bliss and the nature of the sun to shine. It is the nature of the stars to glitter and sparkle. And it is human nature to make our dreams manifest into physical form, easily and effortlessly.”
Why do we make everything so hard?
He goes on to say that there are 3 components to the Law of Least Effort. 1. Acceptance. Accepting things the way they are at this moment. It is exactly as it should be. 2. Responsibility. Do not blame anyone or anything for your situation, including yourself. Every challenge we face is a lesson to be learned. 3. Defenselessness. “When you become defensive, blame others, and do not accept and surrender to the moment, your life meets resistance. Any time you encounter resistance, recognize that if you force the situation, the resistance will only increase.”
Practice acceptance, take responsibility, and be open to all points of view without having to defend your own.
The Law of Intention and Desire
When you desire something and then intend to make it happen, you already have what you need. By sharing your desire and taking baby steps to attain it, the Universe is organizing how it will happen. That comes from the first law. The Law of Potentiality. So, whatever you desire, make a claim and start taking action toward it. Then be aware of the guidance happening around and within you. If it doesn’t happen, pay attention to why that might be.
Make a list of your desires and then decide which ones you intend to make happen. Listen to your gut to decide which should be focused on first.
The Law of Detachment
This law is the essence of what my human design was telling me. Give up the need to control everything. Embrace uncertainty and allow infinite possibilities to come into my world. The things that come easy and make you happy are the things that you are meant to be doing. If you are struggling, let go and try something else. You create your life so why would you hang on to things that are hard or unpleasant? Step into the unknown and see what else appears.
Have fun with this. Be curious about what else is available to you.
The Law of Dharma
Everyone is born with unique gifts and talents that create their purpose in life. When you follow your dharma and use it in service to others, you will find that you are in alignment with your higher self and life will flow easily for you.
In my training to be a Dharma Coach, I have learned how to express my purpose and share it with others. As an artist and teacher, I use my words and my creativity to teach others how to bring beauty to their lives. When I do that without any attachment to what I get in return, with the intention of bringing joy and love to others, while paying attention to the blocks and guidance, and graciously accepting where I am in my business today, I have to succeed.
