I was going to name this post “50 Truths About Life I’ve learned in 50 years”. But I changed my mind for two reasons.

  1. I’m actually 52, but 50 just sounded better, and we don’t remember much from our first two years anyway except maybe this truth. From what I have been told, don’t stand in front of a glass patio door when your brother and sister are fighting! Someone might get pushed through, and you might be in the way. Apparently, I got out of the way in the nick of time! Lesson learned.
  2. I don’t want you to think you have to be 50 or older to discover the truths that shape your life. You need to make the most of your life wherever you are at.

If you are lucky, you get to a place in life when you can just breathe and look back at all you have lived. This doesn’t mean your life is over; it can happen at any age. It is just a matter of taking some time to be grateful and appreciate all you have learned so far.

If you can pause from the rat race of life and reflect, you might notice a few truths that are meaningful in your life. Simple truths that remind you that life is good, you are loved, or there is beauty all around you. Apply them to your life and reap the benefits of happiness, confidence, and being content.

Here are a few that I have learned.
